IASW Anti-Racism Strategy One Year On

3.00 - 5.00pm

online

Shane O'Curry, Director Irish Network Against Racism will give the keynote address at this event.

INAR - the Irish Network Against Racism - is a network of 124 civil society organisations working together to combat racism in all its forms in Ireland, and an active participant in the European Network Against Racism. Working with INAR members, Shane has co-developed the iReport.ie racist incident, hate crime and hate speech recording system and uses the information gathered to support media analysis, regular data reports on racist hate incidents, and the institutional responses to them. Shane also works with INAR Network members to coordinate common network policy responses to racism in all its dimensions. Working with INAR members, he has advocated for a Durban Declaration compliant National Action Plan Against Racism.

The event will highlight the work of the Anti-Racism Advisory Group thus far and will highlight the key objectives for 2022. We will also hear from the members of the workstream sub-groups about their experiences and how this has informed their professional development. As always, we welcome new members who may be interested in progressing the work of the ARAG.

Further details to follow.
