The Anti-Racism Advisory Group is delighted to invite all members of the IASW to join us in this important event, in which we aim to come together, as a community, to reflect and plan together to address racism, and how we, as social workers, can contribute to meaningful change. This event promotes critical reflection on the work done until now, to promote efficiency and support new ideas and approaches to implement the anti-racism in social work.
Last year, our group wrote our second Anti-Racism Strategy, which we wish to discuss with you, in order to strive forward and push for anti-oppressive practices. A lot of our work has been contributing to anti-racism education through CPD events, conferences and in social work courses. We have created a safe space online, our monthly ‘Time Talk Sessions’, to provide social workers a space to share experiences and learn together about racism. You will hear about this and more in this CPD.
But most importantly, we want to hear from the community itself, what is missing, what can be done better, what contributions would be valuable?
We are committed to anti-racist practices in social work and we hope you will join us in this important movement to promote human rights and social justice for all.
This member only event will be facilitated by Nisarg Nagwadia (ARAG Chairperson)
